Our wooded 14-acre campus provides an ideal setting for group retreats of up to 18. LodgingRetreat groups are required to rent at least the two log cottages (Light Of The World and Bright Morning Star). This would be a group size of 12, if all of the rooms are being shared. The two log cottages each rent for a “flat rate” of $840 (6 % room occupancy tax included), for two nights’ lodging for up to 6 guests. If a group needs an extra spot (or two), one additional spot is available in the large bedroom of each of the log cottages at $140 each. The two small cottages (Faithful And True and True Vine) each rent for a “flat rate” of $420 (6 % room occupancy tax included), for two nights’ lodging for up to 3 guests. If a 4th person stays in the cottage, the rate will be $560. This "flat rate" approach will allow you to determine room assignments and also accommodate those in your group that might like their own (private) room. If everyone in your group is wanting to stay at the lowest rate ($140/person for two nights), the following table shows one possible layout. Cottages Required For Everyone To Stay At Lowest Lodging Rate
For retreats longer than two nights, additional nights are charged at half of the corresponding two night “flat rate”. Notice that “partially filled” cottages will still be charged at their “base” amount. MealsWe can prepare breakfasts for your group in our commercial kitchen. Breakfasts are $10/person (6.75 % sales tax included). Our breakfasts feature freshly-prepared entrees, wonderful fresh fruit and premium orange juice, served on real china with cloth napkins and fresh flowers on the table. With advance notice, we can usually accommodate special dietary needs and/or food allergies (e.g., vegetarian, Atkins, lactose intolerance, etc.). During the day, we offer "no ice added" frozen fruit smoothies, made with premium orange juice, as well as iced mocha frappes. They are 16 oz servings for $3, tax included. There are a number of very good restaurant choices in the area for your other meals. We eat regularly at all of these, and can recommend them without hesitation. None of them is more than a 10-20 minute drive. With advance notice, they are all happy to welcome large groups.
It's just a little farther away (25 minutes), but Bistro 108 in La Grange is really worth the drive for a special meal! Check out their Website for more information. Finally, if you would like some FANTASTIC take-out pizza, Reba's in Giddings (also about a 25 minutes drive) has got it! Check out their menu for more information. The Greek salads are also great. Retreat PoliciesRetreat reservations require a non-refundable $250 deposit at booking. Cancellation with at least 30 days notice allows the deposit to be credited toward another available date within the following six months. The balance of your group's lodging, meals and applicable taxes is due no later than 14 days before arrival. No refunds will be given after the final balance payment. When you contact us about a retreat, we will prepare a pricing worksheet to show you a complete breakdown. Click here to see an example. We accept credit cards (American Express, Discover, Master Card & Visa) using PayPal, and will gladly accept personal checks or cash. The conference center will be ready at 11 AM. Guest rooms will be available for check-in at 3 PM. Check-out for all guest rooms and the conference center is 1 PM. If it will work better for your group, these times can be "pushed back" by four hours: the conference center/guest rooms will be ready at 3 PM, and check-out will be 5 PM. If you would like the "best of both" (come early at 11 AM & leave late at 5 PM), this is available for an additional $200 "facility use" charge. Due to food service regulations and insurance liability considerations, we are unable to make our kitchen available for guest use. All of the guest cottages, as well as the conference center, have an undercounter refrigerator and microwave oven for your use. You are welcome to bring your favorite snacks and drinks. While the conference room is not suitable for cooking, salads and crockpots work out nicely if you'd like to bring in some of your midday/evening meals. Also, if you have a casserole, we'll be happy to heat it in our convection oven. A Light Unto My Path is a strictly smoke-free campus (guest rooms, conference center, porches and all grounds). No children under the age of 13 at retreats except by prior arrangement. No pets are allowed. Revised July 2011. Rates and policies subject to change without notice. |
