How many people can your place accommodate? We have space to sleep 22, if every pillow has a head on it. However, for quilting and scrapbooking retreats, we like to limit the group size to 18 to avoid getting things too crowded in the conference center. Why do I need to make a deposit? A deposit is what confirms the reservation. Without a deposit, we really can't turn other people away that want that same date. This also is why the deposit is non-refundable. When you make a reservation, that date gets marked as unavailable on our Availability Calendar. This tells other groups they need not bother checking with us about that date. So, if someone decides to cancel a reservation and the deposit got refunded, we could very well end up with nothing because other potential groups have seen that the date was already taken. What if I need to check with my group before I commit to a date? That's fine. We understand that it takes "lead time" to get a group function planned. After you have picked an open date, we can put a "tentative" hold on it to give you time to check with your group. However, given the demand for retreat dates, we cannot hold dates open indefinitely. Tentative reservations will expire 3 days after the first contact unless a deposit is made. If we haven't heard from you, we will assume you no longer want the date, and will release it without notice after 3 days. Obviously, we would appreciate knowing as soon as you do if a tentative date isn't going to work for your group. What if something big comes up and I really have to cancel? We understand things come up. We've had people call shortly after making a reservation with the news that they will be 8+ months pregnant on their retreat date! With at least 30 days notice, we can apply the deposit toward another available date within the following six months. This amount of lead time gives us at least some chance to fill the date with another group. |
